CULTURAL CONNECTION IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK

Moët & Chandon illuminates December in New York City.

This festive season, the Maison will bring people together to build memorable moments in the Big Apple.

As a hallmark of the occasion, Moët & Chandon has commissioned a public sculpture, ‘Your Voices’,

by British contemporary artist, Es Devlin to celebrate New York as the most linguistically diverse city on the planet where over 700 languages are spoken.

Installed at Lincoln Center Plaza, the illuminated kinetic sculpture will feature free weekend public performances by New York-based multilingual singing groups

The revolving sculpture, ‘Your Voices’, is formed of 700 glowing cords expressing the more than 700 languages currently spoken in New York City, which are tensioned between a series of structural arcs, enveloping visitors within a revolving illuminated network as it rotates north, south, east and west through a multilingual soundscape which interweaves languages drawn from all over the city: from Algerian Arabic, Alsation, Azeri and Ashanti to Zapotec, Zarma and Zulu.

Teller will take on the lead role in the modern take on the 1982 classic starring Richard Gere, which was nominated for six Academy Awards, winning the best original song prize for “Up Where We Belong” and marking Louis Gossett Jr.’s historic achievement of becoming the first Black best supporting actor Oscar winner.

“An Officer and a Gentleman” centered on Gere’s Zack Mayo, an aspiring Navy aviator who clashes with his hard-nosed drill instructor, Gunnery Sgt. Emil Foley (Gossett) while navigating a budding romance with Paula (Debra Winger), a factory worker with dreams of getting out of her small town. The Taylor Hackford-directed romantic drama was also a box office smash, earning $190 million globally.

Dana Fox wrote the latest draft of the script for the new movie, following a draft written by Matt Johnson. Temple Hill is producing the project.

It’s a return to the cadet life for Teller, who starred as hotshot Navy pilot Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, son of the beloved “Goose” in 2022’s “Top Gun: Maverick.” The long-awaited sequel was a massive hit at the box office, grossing over $1.4 billion worldwide and nabbing six Oscar nominations, including a best picture nod.

Since making his screen debut in 2010’s “Rabbit Hole,” Teller has built a resume that also includes the Oscar-winning drama “Whiplash,” “The Spectacular Now” (for which he won the dramatic special jury award for acting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival), Paramount’s “Footloose” remake, as well as the Godfather series “The Offer” for Paramount+.

He is currently in production on A24’s “Eternity” and just wrapped production for Lionsgate’s “Michael,” the Michael Jackson biopic, which is set to release in 2025. Next, he will star in and executive produce Skydance’s “

The Gorge,” a high-action genre-bending love story for Apple, directed by Scott Derrickson and co-starring Anya Taylor-Joy
