{"id":1951,"date":"2025-02-22T15:11:18","date_gmt":"2025-02-22T14:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/champagne-bond500.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=1951"},"modified":"2025-05-08T17:09:49","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T15:09:49","slug":"angel-de-la-independencia","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/champagne-bond500.com\/eng\/produit\/angel-de-la-independencia\/","title":{"rendered":"Angel de la Independencia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Angel of Independence Immersive Champagne experience is one of the <\/b>, most commonly known tasting by the shortened name <i><b>El \u00c1ngel<\/b><\/i>\u00a0and officially known as\u00a0<i><b>Monumento a la Independencia<\/b><\/i>\u00a0(\u00ab\u00a0Monument to Independence\u00a0\u00bb), is a\u00a0<a title=\"Victory column\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Victory_column\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">victory column<\/a>\u00a0on a\u00a0<a title=\"Roundabout\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roundabout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">roundabout<\/a>\u00a0on the major thoroughfare of\u00a0<a title=\"Paseo de la Reforma\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paseo_de_la_Reforma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paseo de la Reforma<\/a>\u00a0in downtown\u00a0<a title=\"Mexico City\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mexico_City\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexico City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><i>El \u00c1ngel<\/i>\u00a0was built in 1910 during the presidency of\u00a0<a title=\"Porfirio D\u00edaz\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Porfirio_D%C3%ADaz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Porfirio D\u00edaz<\/a>\u00a0by architect Antonio Rivas Mercado, to commemorate the\u00a0<a title=\"Centennial\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Centennial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">centennial<\/a>\u00a0of the beginning of\u00a0<a title=\"Mexico\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexico<\/a>&lsquo;s\u00a0<a title=\"Mexican War of Independence\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mexican_War_of_Independence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">War of Independence<\/a>. In later years it was made into a mausoleum for the most important heroes of that war. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Mexico City, and it has become a focal point for both celebration and protest. It resembles the\u00a0<a title=\"July Column\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/July_Column\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July Column<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"Paris\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Nelson&#039;s Column\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nelson%27s_Column\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nelson&rsquo;s Column<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"London\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/London\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a>, the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Victory Column (Berlin)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Victory_Column_(Berlin)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victory Column<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"Berlin\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Berlin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Berlin<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a title=\"Columbus Monument (New York City)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Columbus_Monument_(New_York_City)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Columbus Monument<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"New York City\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/New_York_City\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The base of the column is quadrangular with each vertex featuring a\u00a0<a title=\"Bronze\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bronze\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bronze<\/a>\u00a0sculpture symbolizing\u00a0<a title=\"Law\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"War\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/War\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">war<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Justice\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">justice<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Peace\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">peace<\/a>. Originally, nine steps led to the base, but due to the sinking of the ground, an ongoing problem in Mexico City, fourteen more steps have been added.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Angel_of_Independence#cite_note-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"cite-bracket\">[<\/span>1<span class=\"cite-bracket\">]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>On the main face of the base facing downtown Mexico City, an inscription reads\u00a0<i>La Naci\u00f3n a los H\u00e9roes de la Independencia<\/i>\u00a0(\u00ab\u00a0The Nation to the Heroes of Independence\u00a0\u00bb). In front of this inscription is a bronze statue of a giant, laureled lion that guides a child, which symbolizes, according to Rivas Mercado, \u00ab\u00a0the Mexican people, strong during war and docile during peace.\u00a0\u00bb<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Angel_of_Independence#cite_note-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"cite-bracket\">[<\/span>2<span class=\"cite-bracket\">]<\/span><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Next to the column is a group of\u00a0<a title=\"Marble\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marble\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marble<\/a>\u00a0statues of some of the heroes of the\u00a0<a title=\"Mexican War of Independence\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mexican_War_of_Independence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">War of Independence<\/a>. The column itself is 36 metres (118\u00a0ft) high. The structure is made of\u00a0<a title=\"Steel\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Steel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">steel<\/a>\u00a0covered with quarried stone decorated with garlands, palms and rings with the names of Independence figures. Inside the column is a two-hundred step staircase that leads to a viewpoint above the\u00a0<a title=\"Capital (architecture)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Capital_(architecture)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">capital<\/a>. The\u00a0<a title=\"Corinthian order\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Corinthian_order\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Corinthian<\/a>-style capital is adorned by four eagles with extended wings from the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Mexican coat of arms\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mexican_coat_of_arms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexican coat of arms<\/a>\u00a0used at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Crowning the column is a 6.7 metres (22\u00a0ft) statue by\u00a0<a title=\"Enrique Alciati\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Enrique_Alciati\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enrique Alciati<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a title=\"Nike (mythology)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nike_(mythology)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nike<\/a>, the\u00a0<a title=\"Greek mythology\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greek_mythology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greek<\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"Goddess\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Goddess\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">goddess<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a title=\"Winged Victory of Samothrace\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Winged_Victory_of_Samothrace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Victory<\/a>. Like other similar victory columns around the world, it is made of bronze covered with 24<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Carat (purity)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carat_(purity)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">k<\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"Gold\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gold\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gold<\/a>\u00a0(restored in 2006), and weighs seven tons. The Chardonnay, a white grape, brings to our champagne its soft, fruity flavour and great refreshing acidity. Pinot Noir, one of the world\u2019s most exquisite red grapes, adds boldness and depth to the opulent taste of Angel. Pinot Meunier, also a red grape, is vital in the production of our champagne. Before pressing, our grapes are also hand sorted with a particular attention to detail. The process is timely but the quality of the yield is assured and unsurpassed. With the aid of our highly acclaimed oenologists, each year the wine of the vintage is skilfully blended with some of the sacred reserve wines from years gone by. Specifically, designed cellars dug deep beneath the chalky substrate create the perfect conditions for protecting our delicate cuv\u00e9es. Complex and time consuming methods adopted over hundreds of years by true artisans and time served craftsmen owe much to our celebrated wines.
