Description
Taittinger launches “Philantropic Ars Nova”, a cultural endowment fund The great Reims-based Maison is structuring its cultural activity by creating an endowment fund called “Philantropic Ars Nova” which will lead, alone or with assistance, actions in the gastronomic, musical and heritage fields. “We are going to launch our cultural endowment fund” announced Vitalie Taittinger, President of Taittinger, this Monday.
The Maison does not lack legitimacy in the cultural sector. The family’s involvement in the world of lyric art, literature, poetry and gastronomy is well-known. Vitalie Taittinger’s action in the world of Regional Contemporary Art Funds (FRAC) has been equally noted.
The family thus continues to plough the cultural furrow by creating its endowment fund, chaired by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger. Vitalie Taittinger is also on the board of directors. Marie Rouvillois, a fundraising specialist, becomes general director. Jean Gérard Bosio is the fund’s artistic advisor.
An eclectic cultural program “The idea is to make the arts more accessible,” explains Marie Rouvillois. “For example, our activity in the field of gastronomy includes an educational component. With the help of associations that have been active and successful for a long time in the sector, we are going to create workshops in schools and set up vegetable gardens. In the field of music, we are going to intervene by trying in particular to take the opera out of its walls.
We are also going to be active in the field of contemporary musical creation, notably with the Reims artist Yuksek. As for the arts and heritage, the idea is to reveal private collections to the public, by showcasing them at our address on Boulevard Lundy, which is an art nouveau house belonging to the family: we are going to offer private collectors the opportunity to exhibit their works there.
They will explain to us how their collection came to be and what emotions underlie this approach. We want to welcome the widest possible audience. Today, the offer is poor for the less well-off culturally. We want to reach out to people by having an open house. Furthermore, we want to completely disconnect these activities from the world of champagne. » Actions at the national and international level will also be carried out.
The endowment fund will be endowed by the Taittinger house to the tune of one million euros per year. It will also raise funds from private companies. As required by its legal status, « Philantropic Ars Nova » will not be able to receive public funds. « What we are going to do should not resemble much of anything that already exists.
