CLAP won Champagne Offering of the Year

In a competitive category, CLAP Dubai won the award for Champagne Offering of the Year at the Gault&Millau UAE Gala 2025

According to the findings from the third edition of the Gault&Millau UAE Champagne Index, DIFC stalwart CLAP, a one-toque-rated restaurant, has the best champagne menu in the country.

The Index was compiled from the champagne lists of every restaurant with one or more toques in the Gault&Millau UAE Guide 2024, cataloguing every bottle available. Each menu was split between champagne producers, and bottles were logged in variant, vintage and size formats, then ordered by price.

Restaurants were ranked based on the variety of available bottles, the number of vintages within the selection, and the value for money they offered. Those with the best selection of champagnes (compared to other restaurants in the Index) achieved higher rankings in the tables and were featured more highly overall.

CLAP came out on top of the 58 restaurants represented in those calculations, and nearly 140 restaurants are included in the 2024 guide. It offers 79 non-vintage champagnes and 72 vintages, as well as 19 large formats. This range places the venue as one of the best in terms of variety, but the value propelled CLAP to the top of the list, as the bottles were consistently featured at the top for almost every variety and producer when it came to price.

Highlights that set CLAP apart included a first-place ranking across multiple houses, such as Bollinger, Bruno Paillard, Devaux & M. Chapoutier Stenope and Pol Roger, ranking as the cheapest in the city, along with plenty of other vintage, non-vintage, rose and large format examples.
